Job summary

S.P. Richards Company is seeking an Overnight Driver for full-time work in Coppell, TX. The role delivers and retrieves office products on overnight routes with emphasis on DOT safety and customer service.

Responsibilities include pre/post-trip inspections, route navigation, and accurate POD logging using an onboard system. Must be able to cover all routes and maintain professional conduct and neat appearance on deliveries.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid CDL Class A with two years driving experience.
• Clean three-year motor vehicle history.
• Must meet SPR’s Driving Standards and maintain them.
• Able to drive to customers on established routes and identify correct location.
• Must comply with DOT regulations and maintain DOT licenses/qualifications.
• Strong attention to detail for product numbers and location identifiers.
• Experience with RoadNet and tablets/ELDs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-trip safety inspections of the assigned vehicle.
• Check paperwork against ordered products and shipments.
• Maintain an accurate electronic delivery log via onboard tablet/ELD for POD and DOT compliance.
• Unload and/or pick up orders at delivery sites using pallet jacks, hand trucks, or by hand.
• Adhere to safety rules and handle hazardous materials when required.
• Retrieve returns and record numbers accurately.
• Complete delivery routes in the predetermined sequence.
• Provide courteous, professional service to customers; maintain neat appearance.

Overnight Driver (Full Time)

Full Time Manual Labor Dallas DC, Coppell, TX, US

Summary: Responsible for the safe and timely delivery and retrieval of office products to S.P. Richards customers during overnight routes, ensuring excellent service and adherence to DOT and company safety standards.

Shift: 10 PM – To Complete

Must be able to cover and learn all routes

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform Company established and DOT mandated pre- and post-trip safety inspections of assigned vehicle.
• Check paperwork against the products ordered and shipped.
• Maintain an accurate, detailed electronic delivery log using the onboard tablet or ELD system for route navigation, DOT compliance logging, and Proof of Delivery (POD)
• Cleaning and maintenance functions of delivery vehicle.
• Adhere to all safety rules including the handling of hazardous materials.
• Retrieve returns and accurately record their numbers.
• Proficient completion of assigned delivery route in the predetermined sequence.
• Unloads and/or picks up orders at designated delivery site utilizing equipment on truck which includes pallet jack, power jack, hand truck or by hand when necessary.
• Proper handling and filing of customer paperwork as needed.
• Provide courteous, efficient and professional service in dealing with customers. Neatness is a must.

Qualifications:

• Must possess a valid commercial driver’s license class A as required by DOT and two (2) years driving experience.
• Must have clean three (3) year motor vehicle history.
• Must meet SPR’s Driving Standards as provided at time of interview and maintain those standards throughout employment.
• Must be able to safely drive product to customers on established routes, utilizing route numbers to identify correct customer.
• Must be able to meet and fulfill all regulations and requirements for truck drivers as prescribed by the DOT and maintain valid DOT licenses or qualifications.
• Must demonstrate strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately read and match product numbers, line codes, and location identifiers in a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred : Experience using Roadnet system for DOT logging and POD collection, and familiarity with tablets or ELDs for electronic logging and route navigation.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to write legibly.

Math Ability:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
