Job summary

Minnehaha County Safe Home seeks a part-time overnight Direct Support Professional to provide safety, comfort and peace of mind during overnight hours. You will support residents experiencing homelessness with compassionate, team‑oriented service in a housing first program.

Responsibilities include monitoring front desk and security, assisting residents and guests, coordinating meals, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with one year of general office or security work.
• Experience in environments requiring critical thinking and problem solving.
• Ability to use technology and related software systems, with effective verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Monitor front desk operations, visitor access and facility security.
• Screen residents and guests for prohibited items and respond to emergencies.
• Monitor security cameras and assist residents, guests and service providers.
• Support meal service operations and dining area upkeep.
• Enforce facility rules and assist with resident accountability and program goals.
• Perform routine cleaning in residential and common areas.
• Create and manage resident and staff ID badges.
• Supervise resident work assignments and building maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate maintenance requests and urgent facility issues.
