Job summary

Autism Delaware is seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals to support a young woman in her home on a full-time overnight shift from 11pm to 9am. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, transportation to appointments, personal care, meal preparation, and monitoring health needs.

Ideal candidates are patient, reliable, able to work independently or as part of a team, and flexible for evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.

POW&R, Autism Delaware’s adult services program, is seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support a young woman in her home.

Direct Support Professionals play an important role in helping individuals live as independently as possible while supporting them in their homes and within the community.

We are currently hiring full-time, overnight shift 11pm-9am.

Position Responsibilities

Responsibilities vary depending on the needs of the individuals being supported and may include:

• Assisting an individual with daily living activities
• Supporting community participation and outings
• Transporting the individual to appointments and community activities
• Assisting with personal care and hygiene
• Supporting meal preparation and household routines
• Monitoring health or medical concerns
• Supporting individuals who may display behavioral challenges
• Encouraging independence, communication, and life skills

These duties are essential functions of the position and are part of providing quality residential support.

Transportation Requirement (Essential Job Function)

Applicants must have:

• Reliable personal transportation
• A valid driver’s license
• Proof of insurance
• A clean driving record
