Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota is hiring a Direct Support Professional to guide and support individuals with disabilities through daily living, advocacy and safety. You will transport clients to appointments, maintain records, and participate in trainings.

This overnight role requires responsiveness to concerns at night and morning hours. The position offers a wage increase up to $14.46/hour after six months of consistent employment and a $2000 hiring bonus, with opportunities for

Qualifications

• Background check required.
• One year experience with individuals with disabilities desired.
• Basic computer and math skills required.
• Ability to read, write and solve problems.
• Must show boundaries, patience, self-control and flexibility.
• Medication administration training may be obtained after hire.
• CPR/First Aid certification may be obtained after hire.
• Mental Health certification is desired (may be obtained after hire).

Responsibilities

• Overnight position with approximately five hours of sleep per night; address concerns during night/morning.
• Provide guidance, support, advocacy, safety and daily living assistance.
• Transport individuals to appointments and events as needed.
• Maintain documentation, records and participate in trainings/meetings.
