Job summary

S.P. Richards Company in Jessup, MD, is seeking a professional CDL-A Delivery Driver to ensure safe, timely delivery and pickup of office products on overnight routes.

You will perform DOT and company safety inspections, maintain PODs, and provide courteous service to customers. Applicants should have a valid CDL-A, clean driving record, and the ability to navigate routes using Roadnet or similar systems; physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds and move heavy items with equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid commercial driver’s license class A and two years driving experience.
• Must have a clean three-year motor vehicle history.
• Must meet SPR’s Driving Standards and maintain those standards.
• Must be able to safely drive product to customers on established routes, utilizing route numbers to identify correct customer.
• Must meet all DOT regulations and hold valid DOT licenses or qualifications.
• Ability to read and match product numbers and location identifiers.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections of the assigned vehicle.
• Check paperwork against the products ordered and shipped.
• Maintain an accurate electronic delivery log using the onboard tablet/ELD for route navigation, DOT compliance logging, and POD.
• Cleaning and basic maintenance of the delivery vehicle.
• Retrieve returns and record their numbers accurately.
• Unloads and/or picks up orders at the delivery site using equipment or by hand as needed.
• Provide courteous, efficient, and professional service to customers.

Skills

Commercial driver’s license class A
