ABM Industries is recruiting an Overnight Custodial Zone Manager to own contracted services at George Washington University. You will lead operations, drive safety, recruitment, productivity, and quality while controlling costs at the 2025 F Street NW location in Washington, DC.

The role requires overseeing staffing, scheduling, and client relations, with a focus on continuous improvement and revenue opportunities. Standard shift is Tuesday–Saturday nights, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; degree in facilities management, hospitality, or related field preferred.
• 10+ years custodial/janitorial experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain strong client relationships with assigned account(s).
• Identify opportunities and lead the team to implement process changes.
• Promote a strong safety culture and safe work environment.
• Recruit, manage, and lead a team of professionals with focus on continuous improvement.
• Motivate and develop the team and support organizational change.
• Plan work schedules to meet department and contractual needs.
• Perform daily quality control inspections and ensure standards.
• Adapt plans to operational challenges.
• Conduct time studies to optimize tasks and staffing.
• Seek opportunities to increase revenue by offering additional services.
• Drive performance reviews, set expectations, coach, and address disciplinary actions.
• Handle special projects as assigned.
