Job summary

A & Associates is seeking qualified Corrections Officers to support third-shift operations at a secure facility in Clayton, Missouri. Selected officers will supplement the facility’s correctional team by performing designated security and correctional-support functions.

The role focuses on maintaining safety through rounds, observations, documentation, and adherence to post orders. Ideal candidates are dependable, observant, and capable of following procedures in a secure environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience in a corrections or secure facility strongly preferred.
• Must have correctional officer certification as required by the jurisdiction.
• Must satisfy background, criminal-history, drug-screening, and facility-clearance requirements.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Strong observation and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled security rounds and key tours throughout assigned areas of the facility.
• Inspect doors, locks, gates, and designated security points to confirm proper securing.
• Perform routine proof-of-life and welfare observations of incarcerated individuals.
• Document rounds, observations, incidents, and other required information accurately.
• Report security concerns, medical concerns, or unusual behavior to appropriate facility personnel.
• Follow post orders, emergency procedures, safety protocols, and chain-of-command requirements.
• Assist existing correctional staff with noncritical security and operational functions.
• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality with inmates and staff.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with designated correctional personnel.
• Perform other related duties within the assignment scope.
