Responsibilities

• Maintains security in buildings and posts; responds to emergencies.
• Supervises offender movement and conducts counts.
• Searches offenders and living quarters for contraband.
• Escorts offenders to predetermined locations.
• Supervises housing units and work, recreational, or religious activities.
• Performs health and safety inspections; reports violations and deficiencies.
• Discusses minor adjustment problems with offenders and promotes rehabilitation.
• Supervises visits and screens visitors and buildings for contraband.
• Follows post orders and instructions; performs other related work.
