Job summary

Athena Care at Home in Stafford Springs, CT is hiring Overnight Companion II to provide nonmedical personal care and safety supervision in clients' homes. This on-the-road role requires a valid driver's license and insured vehicle; mileage is reimbursed.

You will assist with daily living activities, reminders for medications, light housekeeping, transportation to outings, and emotional support, while ensuring safety and privacy.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent customer service and listening skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have an active driver's license and an insured vehicle.
• Access to a working telephone for communication with the client, family, and the team.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Demonstrate the ability to make appropriate professional judgments.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, and eating/feeding.
• Medication reminders.
• Housekeeping including vacuuming, dusting, washing dishes, trash removal, laundry, changing bed sheets, etc.
• Drive clients to and from planned outings, events, or appointments, as needed.
• Provide emotional and social support to clients.
• Assist with grocery shopping and meal preparation.
• Monitor the skin health of the client.
• Application and maintenance of prosthetics and orthotics.
• Report any changes in the client's status to appropriate team members.
