Job summary

Athena Care at Home is hiring overnight Companion IIs in Stafford Springs, CT. This role involves supervising safety and assisting with activities of daily living for clients in their homes, including nonmedical personal care.

Qualified candidates will have an active driver's license, insured vehicle, access to a phone, and strong communication skills. Mileage will be reimbursed; weekly pay at $17 per hour. Must be 18+ with a high school diploma or equivalent.

• Must have an active driver's license and an insured vehicle.
• Access to a working telephone for communication with the client, family, and the team.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with the client, family, and office staff.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Demonstrate the ability to make appropriate professional judgments.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, and eating/feeding.
• Medication reminders.
• Housekeeping including vacuuming, dusting, washing dishes, trash removal, laundry, changing bed sheets, etc.
• Drive clients to and from planned outings, events, or appointments, as needed.
• Provide emotional and social support to clients.
• Assist with grocery shopping and meal preparation.
• Monitor the skin health of the client.
• Application and maintenance of prosthetics and orthotics.
• Report any changes in the client's status to appropriate team members.
