Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join an overnight 7 on/7 off team on site. You will verify orders, perform clinical reviews, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to ensure safe, effective medication use.

The role emphasizes direct medication distribution, IV admixtures, and adherence to regulatory standards, with a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. Flexibility to rotate into day or evening shifts may be possible based on needs.

Qualifications

• PGY-1 Residency OR 1-3 years relevant hospital experience.
• BPS preferred qualification.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary care team and promote patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify medication orders considering patient parameters and clarify ambiguities with prescribers.
• Document and communicate with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide drug information to physicians, nurses and other health care professionals.
• Supervise students, technicians and residents within the pharmacist area.
• Promote patient safety by reporting medication events and near misses.
• Complete daily pharmacy surveillance and related reports.
• Collaborate with all pharmacy staff and uphold teamwork.
• Assist onboarding and training of new hires and precept students/residents.
• Support formulary stewardship and policy development.
• Participate in Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee discussions.
