The Overnight Cleaner at Fairmont Century Plaza is responsible for ensuring the smooth overnight maintenance and cleanliness of the hotel's public areas, guest spaces, and operational facilities. This position includes performing deep-cleaning tasks, maintaining cleaning standards, and supporting the overall presentation of the property to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

What you will be doing:

1. Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
2. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and supervisors
3. Assist the Supervisor in completion of special requests or miscellaneous projects
4. Deep clean and keep orderly all assigned public areas. Use odor controls as necessary
5. Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision following a routine schedule of cleaning
6. Sign in and out master keys, radios/mobile electronics daily
7. Be familiar with Hotel’s technology and communication platforms, and utilize to ensure hotel operation and guest satisfaction
8. Remove trash from public areas (Offices, Cubicles, Desks/Stands, Lobby, restrooms, patios, pool, etc.)
9. Empty trash in all public areas and clean public restrooms
10. Restock public restrooms with necessary supplies for proper sanitation and standard
11. Stock, clean and organize all janitorial storages, ensuring they are supplied with the necessary items to quickly address liquid/solid spills, trash and stocking of public restrooms.
12. Clean all mirrors, inside of windows, wipe and dust all surfaces; keeping all brass shiny
13. Clean elevator cabins, floors, tracks and buttons; clean escalator steps, tracks, walls, railing
14. Vacuum carpets and walk off mats and spot carpet where needed
15. Clean hard to reach surfaces like high ceilings, baseboards, air vents, high shelves, high windows, chandeliers, etc.
16. Properly sanitize F&B countertops, surfaces and touch points. Dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming
17. Walk through F&B spaces to ensure cleanliness
18. Clean and stock the Green Rooms and associated restrooms, before, during and after use
19. Actively assist in the safety and security of our guests and associates by reporting suspicious behavior/packages to Security or Management
20. Return and properly tag all lost and found articles in the Housekeeping Office
21. Follow all departmental policies and procedures and service standards
22. Report necessary maintenance items
23. Adhere to local and externally relevant health and safety laws and policies
24. Adhere to SDS (Safety Data Sheet) information related to the proper and safe use of chemicals in the workplace
25. Be familiar with all public restrooms, offices and meeting spaces within building
26. Follow all safety and sanitation policies
27. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

1. Must be willing to work overnight
2. Ability to follow instruction, work with others and work independently
3. Ability to communicate fluently with our guests
4. Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
5. Previous Customer Service experience an asset
6. Previous Cleaning or janitorial experience an asset
7. Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
8. Integrity and works well when Supervisors are not present
9. Ability to manage own time efficiently
10. Ability to safely handle heavy equipment and machinery
11. Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies
12. Able to use basic cleaning equipment
13. Familiarity with Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
14. Highly responsible and reliable
15. Spoken and written English
