Job summary

Home Helpers of Allendale is seeking an overnight Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) to support clients in Bergen County, NJ. This role offers local, overnight care with competitive hourly pay and flexible scheduling.

You will perform ADLs, monitor safety, and provide compassionate companionship during the night, ensuring comfort and security for clients and families.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey CHHA certification is required.
• Valid NJ driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Availability for overnight shifts (8, 10, or 12 hours).
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.

What You'll Do

As a CHHA with Home Helpers, your overnight duties will include — but are not limited to:

• Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
• Bathing, grooming, and personal hygiene support
• Transfers and mobility assistance
• Toileting and incontinence care
• Medication reminders
• Vital signs monitoring (as directed)
• Companionship and emotional support
• Overnight supervision and safety monitoring
• Light housekeeping during downtime
• Meal prep and feeding assistance if needed
• Accurate documentation and shift notes
• Communication with care coordinators and families

Requirements

• Active, valid New Jersey CHHA certification — required
• Valid NJ driver's license and reliable transportation
• Availability for overnight shifts (8, 10, or 12 hours)
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
• Genuine compassion for elderly and vulnerable populations
• Ability to safely perform physical care tasks including transfers and lifting
