Job summary
Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a 76-hour biweekly overnight schedule. You will support inpatient and outpatient medication preparation and assist the pharmacy team in daily workflow.
The role involves sterile compounding, IV preparation, Pyxis replenishment, and ensuring accurate medication distribution. Candidates should have hospital tech experience and relevant certifications, with continued competency maintenance.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED plus 2 years of hospital pharmacy technician experience.
- 1 year of sterile compounding experience; strong knowledge of metric conversions and ratio calculations.
- Passing score of 90% on calculation, aseptic preparation, and hazardous drugs handling exams.
- CPhT certified and RPT licensed upon hire.
Responsibilities
- Interact with coworkers and staff following Jefferson values.
- Prepare drug orders from physicians for pharmacist review and dispensing.
- Replenish Pyxis machines and monitor refrigerator temperatures.
- Document waste, and ensure proper specimen labeling and storage.
- Assist in IV preparation and transport to nursing floors; maintain competencies.
