Job summary

Aviagen is seeking experienced drivers to operate commercial motor vehicles in a safe, compliant manner and to uphold company policies and local, state, and federal laws.

Responsibilities include DOT compliance, pre-trip inspections, and securing loads while documenting trips and maintaining equipment records. You'll work outdoors, in noisy conditions, and on long shifts, including nights and holidays.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of driving experience required.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Class A CDL with 1 year verifiable safe driving record.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety rules.
• Ability to read and write legibly.
• Ability to work unsupervised and stay motivated.
• Demonstrates integrity and good moral character.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in live poultry tractor-trailer driving is preferred.
• Basic math skills are required.
• Comply with DOT/state/federal laws and company safety policies.
• Work outdoors daily in varying weather.
• Able to sit and drive up to 10 hours and enter/exit the cab repeatedly.
• Lift up to 75 lbs.
• Work around odors from live birds.
• Work in noisy environments (>85 dB).
• Willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
• Perform and document pre-trip inspections.
• Assist with loading/unloading trailers as needed.
• Ensure load is secure before movement.
• Maintain documentation of equipment, time, trips, weight, etc.
• Clean and wash truck as required.
• Report maintenance issues to supervisor.
• Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.
