Job summary

Visiting Angels is hiring caregivers in Harrisonburg, VA to provide compassionate in-home care for seniors. Training and ongoing support are provided, with competitive pay and flexible scheduling for part-time and full-time roles.

As a caregiver, you will assist with personal care, mobility, meals, and daily activities, while maintaining safety and dignity for clients in a home setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• PCA (personal care aide), Nurse Aide Course Completion Certificate, or CNA license.
• Prior healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care experience (1 year preferred).
• Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting and open to learning new skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Auto Insurance.
• Compassionate and supportive demeanor.
• Available to work different shifts, including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance including showering, bathing, dressing and eating.
• Remind clients to take medications and assist with ambulation.
• Assist with mobility around the home and accompany doctor visits.
• Support with meals, personal care, and basic exercises as prescribed.
• Complete shopping or accompany clients on errands.
• Perform light housekeeping and report incidents.
• Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
• Offer daily living activities and help with meals as needed.

Pay rate: 17.00 per hour plus shift differential

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating.
• Remindclients to take prescribed medication and assist clients with ambulation
• Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
• Assist with personal care and hygiene, plan and prepare meals and help with physical therapy exercises.
• Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
• Perform housekeeping duties and report any unusual incidents
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
• Offer activities that areessential for daily living by assisting patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessary.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• PCA (personal care aide), Nurse Aide Course Completion Certificate, or CNA (certified nursing assistant) license
• Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year) preferred
• Enjoy working in a one‑on‑one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
• Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every single day
