Job summary

Visiting Angels Amarillo is hiring an Overnight Caregiver to provide compassionate support in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. This 12-hour night shift demands reliability, empathy, and strong teamwork.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, monitoring vital signs, meal planning, light housekeeping, medication administration, social engagement, and documenting care. Prior home health or memory care experience is preferred; HIPAA and CPR knowledge are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in caregiving or related fields (home health, hospice) is required.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Ability to assist with activities of daily living and patient monitoring.

• Assist clients with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Monitor vital signs and observe health or behavioral changes.
• Prepare meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary needs.

• Location: Amarillo, TX
• Pay: $11.00 - $14.00 based on experience
• 12 hour Night Shift

Visiting Angels Amarillo is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Overnight Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care to our clients in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's, and dementia. This role requires a blend of personal care skills, patience, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Our office in Amarillo provides caregivers for the Panhandle area including Amarillo, Claude, Hereford, Dumas, Borger, Fritch, Canyon, Pampa , and many others.

Overnight Caregiver Duties

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide patient care by monitoring vital signs and observing changes in health or behavior.
• Prepare meals and assist with meal planning according to dietary restrictions.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
• Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans.
• Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
• Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts for transferring clients safely.
• Document care provided and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals regarding any concerns or changes in client status.

Overnight Caregiver Experience

Candidates should have experience in caregiving or related fields, including but not limited to:

• Home health or hospice care experience.
• Working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders.
• Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques.
• Familiarity with patient monitoring and vital sign assessment.
• Experience in memory care or Alzheimer's care settings.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for client support.
