Job summary

Home Instead is seeking caring Care Pros to provide overnight in-home support in Dixon, Somonauk, Big Rock and DeKalb County. Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, meals, medication reminders, and transportation, while building trusting relationships with clients and families.

Shifts run 7pm-7am or 8pm-8am, 3x a week. We offer paid training, PTO, retirement plan, and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, and a telehealth option for you and your household.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting with daily living activities and in-home care.
• Ability to work effectively with seniors and families.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one in-home care including ADLs such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Assist with meal prep, medication management, and light housekeeping.
• Develop personalized care plans and maintain safety and cleanliness.
• Provide transportation to appointments and companionship to clients.

Availability Requirement

• 7pm-7am / 8pm-8am shifts 3x a week
  • These are AWAKE overnight shifts. You cannot sleep during the shift at all.

Care Pro Benefits

• $16.25 - $17.25/hr for overnight shifts. Overtime and holidays are paid at time and a half, miles driven in your car while clocked in are paid at $0.70/mile. Paychecks are direct deposit twice a month.

Duties

• Provide one-on-one care to clients, including assistance with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Support clients with daily living activities, including meal preparation, medication management, and housekeeping.
• Develop and implement personalized care plans that cater to each client's unique needs and preferences.
• Utilize effective behavior management techniques to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.
• Provide transportation to appointments and errands as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized living space, adhering to our organization's standards for cleanliness and safety.
• Build strong relationships with clients and their families, providing emotional support and companionship.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and address any concerns or issues that may arise.

Skills

• Knowledge of ADLs and the ability to assist with daily living activities.
• Ability to work effectively in a home care setting, including managing challenging behaviors.
• Experience working with seniors is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals.

Location: Dixon, Somonauk, Big Rock, and the DeKalb County area.

All candidates must successfully pass both a federal criminal background check and motor vehicle report.

Additionally, allcandidates must be eligible under the Illinois Department of Public Health's Healthcare Worker Registry. If you are not already deemed eligible by IDPH, then you will need to have your fingerprints scanned by a third-party vendor, at the expense of the employer. If you are need fingerprinting completed, the employer will notify you and help coordinate this appointment.

All candidates must perform drug screening during new hire training. Drug screening is done in the office at the expense of the employer.
