Job summary

University of Nebraska–Lincoln is seeking a Community Service Officer to support campus safety through visible presence in residence halls and throughout the university. You will engage with students, faculty, staff and visitors, address concerns, and contribute to practical safety solutions.

Most shifts are overnight with occasional daytime hours for events; shift differential pay applies where eligible. This role supports 24/7 campus safety operations on the Lincoln, NE campus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• Ability to use standard technology and equipment for the role.
• Must pass a background investigation and pre-placement physical exam.

Responsibilities

• Conduct foot and vehicle patrols, monitor residences and surrounding areas, secure buildings and report disturbances.
• Respond to minor calls for assistance until a police officer arrives.
• Assist students with accessing university resources and navigate campus services.
• Help ensure building security via door access control and surveillance monitoring.
