Job summary

Moody Bible Institute, Chicago campus, is hiring a Public Safety Officer to safeguard students, staff, residents and guests. The role reports to the Chief of Public Safety and requires proactive patrols, incident response, and strong community engagement during overnight hours.

Located at the downtown Chicago campus, this full-time position involves three 12-hour night shifts (6:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m.) and rotating weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or two years of related security experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
• Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Conduct foot and vehicle patrols to deter and identify security concerns.
• Serve as a primary responder to campus incidents, alarms, emergency calls, and 911 notifications.
• Assess, manage, and secure incident scenes while coordinating with emergency responders and city officials.
• Prepare accurate, timely, and detailed incident reports and related documentation.
• Monitor and oversee part-time staff and dispatch operations during assigned shifts.
• Enforce campus policies, including parking regulations and access control procedures.
• Provide security coverage for campus events and activities.
• Assist students, employees, and visitors by providing information, guidance, and support.
