Job summary

Xenia YMCA in Xenia, OH is seeking an Overnight Building Supervisor for part-time, non-exempt work, 8:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. This role supervises the building when program staff aren’t available and handles emergencies with calm, decisive action.

The ideal candidate has strong customer service and supervisory experience, is at least 21, and can guide members, communicate safety guidelines, and perform light maintenance as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year or more of related customer service experience required; two years or more of supervisory experience preferred.
• Computer skills are required as well as strong interpersonal skills.
• Good customer service skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the building during evening and weekend hours.
• Be proactive in disciplinary measures and respond quickly to emergencies.
• Provide information to members as needed and guide them to activities.
• Coordinate with staff; call in substitutes when areas are not staffed.
• Perform light maintenance duties and ensure safety guidelines are followed.
• Conduct tours for prospective members and guests and assist with onboarding.

Overnight Building Supervisor

$15.50 - $18.60/Hourly

This substitute position offers the potential to become permanent. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and available Monday through Friday for overnight shifts between 8:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.

Position Summary:

Responsible for supervising the building during evening and weekend hours, when Program Staff are not available. The Building Supervisor will be proactive in disciplinary measures as needed, act appropriately and quickly should an emergency arise, and solve problems as necessary.

Essential Functions:

• Ensures correct and proper procedures are being followed by all staff on duty


• Checks that staff members are in their correct locations


• Takes the lead in emergency situations


• Offers information to members as needed


• Informs program staff of problems arising in their areas


• Calls for subs for areas that are not staffed


• Follows appropriate safety guidelines.


• Proactively solves problems.


• Conducts tours of the facility for prospective members and guests.


• Guides new members to their desired activities and areas


• Remains knowledgeable of member information and programs.


• Performs light maintenance duties, if necessary.


• Communicates to direct supervisor any concerns or incidents that may need follow-up


• Is familiar with member information as outlined in the new member handbook.
