The Key Program, Inc. is seeking an Overnight Awake Shift Worker in Pittsfield, MA to supervise youth during the overnight hours in a trauma-informed residential setting.

You will monitor clients, perform bed and security checks, and support routines such as wake-up, meals, and school prep. The role collaborates with clinicians, nurses, and direct care staff to ensure safety, structure, and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• College coursework and one year of relevant experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalency required
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Valid state driver’s license and insured car for work use
• Comprehensive background check
• Commitment to trainings in FA/CPR/AED, MA MAP and CPI Crisis Intervention.

Responsibilities

• The Overnight Awake Shift Worker shares a schedule with the team for overnight shifts (11pm–7:30am) and may include weekend shifts
• Remains awake, alert, and security conscious to monitor client activity
• Performs and documents client bed checks every 15 minutes and security checks
• Engages clients with positive, supportive, professional relationships
• Follows safety and security policies and manual procedures to maintain structure
• Assists clients with routines such as wake-up, meals, school prep, medication administration, and transportation
• Notifies and documents program incidents promptly and accurately

Job description

The Key Program is seeking Overnight Awake Shift Workers in Pittsfield, MA, for their residential programs, serving up to nine adolescent girls or boys referred by the MA Department of Children and Families (DCF).

The Overnight Awake Shift Worker is responsible for the welfare of the children/youth in Key's residential programs during the overnight hours (11pm - 7:30am). They monitor clients, perform bed checks, and implement safety and security procedures. Responsibilities

• The Overnight Awake Shift Worker must share a schedule with their team, consisting of overnight shifts (11pm - 7:30am), and may include/ weekend shifts.
• Remains awake, alert, and security conscious at all times to visually monitor and hear client activity throughout the shift.
• Performs and documents client bed checks every 15-minutes and program security checks at required intervals throughout the shift.
• Engages clients and develops positive, appropriate, and supportive professional relationships utilizing a strength-based, client-centered approach.
• Follows program safety and security policies including closely supervising clients; adhering to program procedure manual as a guide to maintain consistency and structure; conducting searches and security checklists; always remaining alert and security conscious.
• Assists clients with their routines such as morning wake-up, meal preparation, school preparation, medication administration, room and program cleanup, transportation, etc.
• Follows policies for providing timely notification of actual or suspected program incidents and completes accurate and timely associated documentation.
