Catholic Charities Boston is seeking Awake Overnight Direct Care Staff to supervise Young Parent families during night hours. The role includes hourly bed checks, safety monitoring, and assisting with daily living and parenting skills in a residential program.

Responsibilities include documenting, transporting clients to appointments, and enforcing program rules. A background check, CPR/First Aid, and professional boundaries are required; bilingual candidates are preferred.

Qualifications

• Background check (CORI/SORI/DCF) and fingerprinting.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an Associate’s with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Experience with de-escalation techniques.
• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight supervision and support to Young Parent families.
• Conduct and document hourly bed checks; maintain logs.
• Transport Young Parents to appointments per policy.
• Assist in developing daily living and parenting skills.
• Enforce program rules and model appropriate behavior.
• Administer and monitor Medical Management Program as instructed by RN.
• Report safety issues to Program Director or designee.
• Maintain safety protocols and de-escalate when needed.
• Participate in household chores to maintain a clean, safe living environment.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and 24 hours of training annually.

Awake Overnight Direct Care Staff assist residents in developing parenting skills and completing daily tasks, while always maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality. The Awake Overnight Direct Care Staff are responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the program during overnight hours, including completing hourly bed checks and monitoring the residence for any concerns.

SHIFT: Wednesday 11pm-9am/Thursday 11pm-9am/Friday 11pm-9am/Saturday 11pm-9am

RESPSONSIBILITES

• Provide overnight supervision and support to Young Parent families residing in the program.
• Conduct and document hourly bed checks; maintain detailed and accurate log notes.
• Transport Young Parents to appointments and other local destinations in line with program policies, particularly those related to Service Plan related tasks.
• Support Young Parents in developing skills for daily living and parenting through instruction and guidance.
• Uphold and enforce program rules and policies while modeling respectful, appropriate behavior.
• Administer and monitor the Medical Management Program as instructed by the Program RN.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all Young Parent families by adhering to program procedures and promptly reporting any issues to the Program Director or designee.
• Maintain professional boundaries and apply de-escalation techniques as necessary; consistently follow safety protocols.
• Participate in household chores to help maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment.
• Attend and actively participate in monthly staff meetings, biweekly supervision sessions, and complete a minimum of 24 hours of job-related training annually.
• Participate in all required agency and division-wide meetings and trainings.

Qualifications

• Pass background record check (CORI/SORI/DCF)and fingerprinting.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field with prior related work or volunteer experience. Or an Associate’s degree with three prior years of experience working with adolescents in a similar environment.
• Current CPR and First Aid training certification.
• Experience with de-escalation skills.
• Must understand and maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a varied and occasionally difficult client population.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Bilingual, bicultural, Spanish speaking ability preferred.
• Good computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite and database applications.
• A valid Massachusetts driver’s license and good driving record.
• Ability to lift, push and pull up to 10 pounds without assistance.
