Job summary

Vanderheyden Hall Inc. seeks an Administrator on Duty (AOD) for its Residential Treatment Center in Wynantskill, NY.

This part-time overnight role supports the Director by overseeing daily operations, safety, and compliance with standards, and it operates Wednesday and Thursday nights. The AOD acts as the on-call behavior management resource, coordinates with departments, and ensures proper end-of-shift handoffs, documentation, and adherence to training requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a supervisory role.
• Ability to manage time and workload effectively.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
• An equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and utilize sound working knowledge of all program standards (OCFS, OPWDD, CSE, and HIPAA).
• Recognize, evaluate, and develop responses to divisional needs.
• Maintain the safety, security, and behavioral management of the division and is empowered to make decisions according to Agency Policy.
• Ensure staffing standards are in adherence to regulatory standards.
• Assign and reassign staff according to the individual needs of the units.
• Ensure that the Vice President of Quality Assurance is notified of allegations of abuse.
• Ensure operational policies are followed and adhered to.
• Assist Activities Coordinator and the Recreation department to ensure daily schedules incorporate recreational and community activities.
• Conduct briefings without going and incoming Administrator on Duty. Remain on duty until properly relieved.
• Complete all end-of-the-month paperwork and route accordingly.
• Assure that quarterly fire drills are conducted within the units.
• Ensure that union contractual agreements are understood and maintained.
