Position Overview

We are seeking to add an Overnight Animal Care Attendant to our team at K9 Cabana!

Shift: 10:00 pm - 6:00 am, 2 to 3 days a week

Core Responsibilities

1. Support the Mission, Vision, and Values of Destination Pet.
2. Sanitize and disinfect pet enclosures and general boarding areas.
3. Provide clean bedding and ensure pet guests have access to clean water at all times.
4. Ensure each pet receives the correct type and amount of food for each meal and maintain cleanliness of food prep areas.
5. Monitor and accurately chart food consumption and elimination; report concerns to management.
6. Visually check pet guests for safety and well-being throughout the shift.
7. Supervise group play or individual activities for dogs, if required.
8. Assist with bathing and brushing of canine guests, if required.
9. Clean up excrement from enclosures and other areas as needed.
10. Monitor pet belongings, clean as needed, and ensure return to owners.
11. Perform daily laundering of pet bedding and towels.

Requirements

Expertise & Experience

1. Must be a pet enthusiast— pets are part of our family!
2. Professional animal care or kennel experience preferred.
3. Maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
4. Entry-level role; high school, college students, and teenagers 16+ encouraged to apply.

Physical

1. Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
2. Frequently lift 40 pounds.
3. Be on your feet for the duration of the shift.
4. Stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
5. Handle dogs on leashes.
6. Work in environments with disinfectants, animal dander, and excretions.

Reporting and Perks

Reports to: General Manager

Perks: Part-time health insurance, mental health, telehealth.

Compensation

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00/hour + tips
