Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in New York, NY seeks an Anesthesia Technician for the overnight shift (6pm–7am) at NYP/Weill Cornell. The role involves assembling, cleaning and maintaining anesthesiology equipment, stocking supplies, and supporting safety in four operating rooms with advanced tech.

This per diem position requires on-site presence with weekend coverage and ASATT certification preferred; high school diploma required, mechanical aptitude and experience with sterilizers are essential.

Qualifications

• ASATT certification preferred and two years’ anesthesia tech experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical training or equipment handling including knowledge on sterilizers and sterility techniques.

Responsibilities

• Disassembles and reassembles equipment for replacement of parts during repair and for daily preventative maintenance audits.
• Calibrates telethermometer, checks and cleans ventilators.
• Maintains cleanliness of equipment between cases with sterility and cleaning procedures knowledge.
• Restocks equipment and supplies for all anesthetizing areas including ORs, Recovery, and procedure rooms.
• Interprets OR schedule to predict equipment needs and alerts supervisor if demand exceeds supply.
• Conducts weekly inventory of supplies maintained by the department and tracks orders.
