Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is seeking an Anesthesia Technician for per diem coverage at NYP/Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital in the Day shift (6:30am-2:30pm). The role involves assisting Anesthesiologists/CRNAs during induction, maintenance and emergence from anesthesia, and supporting regional anesthesia and invasive monitoring equipment.

Strong emphasis on infection control and equipment readiness. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of anesthesia tech

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of experience as an anesthesia tech.
• BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides approved assistance to Anesthesiologists / CRNAs during induction, maintenance and emergence from anesthesia.
• Assists with placement of regional anesthetics and invasive monitoring devices.
• Maintains equipment and supplies for anesthesia care on a daily and per‑case basis.
• Applies infection control and safety practices for equipment handling, cleaning, sterilizing and disposal.
• Sets up sterile equipment (IVs, central lines, arterial lines, pulmonary artery catheters) using sterile technique.
• Operates and disassembles cell saver and rapid infuser devices as assigned.
• Performs standard equipment checks and reports malfunctions to supervisor.
• Ensures sterility and cleanliness of specialized equipment (TEE, fiber optic scopes, LMA).
• Keeps workroom areas clean and orderly before, during, and after each shift.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.
