Job summary

Exelon Corporation seeks a Transm Line Mechanic Trainee to receive formal and on-the-job training in overhead electric transmission construction and maintenance. You'll learn basic electricity concepts, rigging, safety, and how to operate tools and equipment at heights up to 200 feet in a demanding outdoor environment.

The program emphasizes safety, reliability, and readiness for storm response, with on-call overtime and possible assignments across multiple power systems.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Training, education and/or experience in a technical or vocational field; or equivalent combination of formal education/training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction drawings and prints.
• Operate power tools and heavy equipment used in electric transmission line construction.
• Work from towers, poles and microwave towers up to 200+ feet.
• Work from man lifts, platforms and bucket trucks at varying heights near energized circuits.
• Be available for on-call overtime and respond to emergencies as required.
