Job summary

American Electric Power in Texas is seeking a Line Worker to assist in the installation, maintenance, rearrangement, operation, removal and inspection of electrical transmission and distribution facilities. You will drive and operate line trucks and related equipment, with strict adherence to safety rules and supervision levels as described.

The role involves working aloft and around energized equipment, with training and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• No previous work experience required; line work experience or line school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in accordance with safety rules and report unsafe conditions.
• Assemble, install, maintain, remove and inspect conductors and equipment on overhead facilities.
• Operate line trucks and associated equipment; assist in setting poles and clearing vegetation as needed.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Attend and participate in training and assist in training other employees.
