Job summary

Pike Electric, Inc. is seeking a Groundman to start a rewarding career in building, repairing and maintaining overhead electrical distribution systems. You will report to the Foreman and work with the crew on outdoor projects across varying conditions.

The role requires physical labor, willingness to travel, and readiness to respond to outages and emergencies while strictly following PPE and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License; able to obtain CDL within 60 days
• Willing to travel long distances on short notice
• Lift/cushion/carry/pull up to 50 pounds
• Able to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, overtime

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintenance and repair of overhead distribution systems with safety as a priority
• Assist in installing and repairing overhead power lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order
• Work outdoors in varied and extreme weather conditions
• Be available for outages, storms, emergencies and on‑call rotations
• Follow safety protocols including PPE use and understanding insulated protection concepts
• Inspect PPE and rubber goods and know when to wear PPE
• Perform rigorous physical labor
