Job summary

Pike Corporation is seeking an entry level Class C Lineman to support construction, maintenance and repair of overhead distribution systems. Work includes stringing wire, setting poles, and assisting with transformers and switchgear. Travel to various locations and possibly another state may be required.

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of experience, can perform heavy physical work, and are familiar with high voltage procedures. A CDL is preferred and PPE must be used properly.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of minimum experience required.
• Able to perform rigorous physical labor.
• Able to identify primary and secondary voltage on a circuit.
• Must be familiar with induced voltage.
• Capable of assisting with installation and hook up of a single phase transformer.
• Capable of safely setting a pole.

Responsibilities

• Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized overhead lines.
• Stringing overhead wire and setting poles and anchors.
• Assist with installing transformers, arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches and switchgear.
• Assist in replacing fuses in transformers and clears faulted circuits.
• Travel to various locations and possibly other states as required by customer demands.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good condition.
• Perform other related duties as needed to complete the job.
