Job summary

Lineman Central is seeking an Electrical Overhead Lineman to install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground power lines across residential, commercial, and industrial sites. You will work safely to ensure continuous electrical service and fast response to outages while coordinating with customers and utility teams.

Applicants should have an Accredited Lineman Apprenticeship or equivalent, a high school diploma, 6–8 years of field experience, and the ability to operate hand and power

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an Accredited Lineman Apprenticeship Program or equivalent.
  • 6 to 8 years of experience as an Electrical Lineman.
  • Experience with both overhead and underground line work preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory and principles.
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.
  • Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Certifications: Valid Lineman Certification.
  • CDL may be required.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Physical requirements: Lift and carry heavy equipment and materials; climb poles.
  • Working conditions: Outdoors in all weather; exposure to high-voltage; may require overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain overhead and underground electrical power lines.
  • Set up and maintain electrical power distribution systems.
  • String wire conductors and cables between poles, towers, and buildings.
  • Install and maintain transformers, circuit breakers, switches, and other electrical equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and protocols to prevent electrical hazards.
  • Utilize proper protective equipment and tools while working.
  • Follow industry regulations and company policies for safe operations.
  • Perform job site inspections to ensure safety compliance.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Operate and maintain line trucks, aerial lift devices, and other specialized equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections and troubleshooting to identify electrical faults.
  • Use testing equipment to check for continuity, voltage, and other parameters.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and the general public.
  • Provide timely updates on repair and maintenance activities.
  • Address customer concerns and service interruptions efficiently.
  • Respond to power outages and emergency situations promptly.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for after-hours and weekend emergency repairs.
  • Coordinate with other utility services and emergency response teams.
