Job summary

5 Star Electric, LLC (5 Star) is a premier full-service provider of electrical construction, maintenance, and repair services with offices in Western Kentucky and Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. The Lineman – C Class position involves performing Groundman/Apprentice responsibilities, working on de-energized lines, and ensuring safety on all tasks.

The role requires climbing poles, handling heavy equipment, and operating service trucks in diverse weather.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of lineman experience or equivalent hours.
• Valid State Driver License required.
• Must have a valid Class A CDL and current medical examiner card.
• Candidates must pass criminal and MVR background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must complete OSHA 10hr Safety Training within 60 days.
• Completion of formal training program or at least four years of verifiable experience including three years of energized work.
• Must be able to travel frequently and work overtime including storm work.
• Must be able to work outdoors in diverse terrain and all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Thorough knowledge of electrical line work methods and equipment.
• Follow safety precautions to prevent hazards on job sites.
• Climb poles and perform strenuous duties in various weather conditions.
• Read and record data from meter dials.
• Digs holes and sets poles for electrical lines and installs transformers.
• String wire on new construction or repairs lines and perform related work.
