Job summary

MMI Industrial & Steel in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a crane technician with hands-on experience in overhead crane systems. The role requires electrical and mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work at heights.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of overhead crane technician experience.

• Aptitude for electrical and mechanical environments and related equipment.
• Ability to work at heights.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Performing regular maintenance and inspections of cranes and related equipment.
• Installing new cranes, wiring, and troubleshooting issues.
• Reviewing records to track service history and detect potential problems.
• Inspecting crane components for wear or damage to identify causes of accidents.
• Performing routine maintenance and replacing parts as needed.

MMI is looking to hire a crane technician who has the following qualifications.

• 3-5 years’ experience as an overhead crane technician
• A minimum of 2-year hands-on electro-mechanical maintenance and/or equivalent military experience
• Must have 480VAC 3 phase experience
• Knowledge with electrical controls and VFDs
• Aptitude for both electrical and mechanical environments as well as familiarity with mechanical and electrical equipment
• Ability to work heights
• The crane technician must possess excellent communication and writing skills
• Must have a valid state issued driver’s license

Responsibilities:

• Inspecting equipment to ensure it is in good working order

Crane technician must be physically able to:

• Lift and carry objects weighing more than 50 lbs.
• Stoop, kneel, crawl, lay, bend, squat for long periods of time
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
