Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience repairing and maintaining overhead cranes, hoists, or industrial equipment.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills with knowledge of 24VDC, 120VAC, 240VAC, 480VAC systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work at heights and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair overhead cranes, hoists and related equipment.
• Diagnose electrical components including motors, drives, relays, contactors, and control panels.
• Read schematics, blueprints, and service manuals to perform repairs.
• Install and commission new crane systems and upgrades.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and complete service reports.
• Perform load testing and safety inspections per standards.
• Communicate repair status and recommendations to supervisors and customers.
• Participate in emergency breakdowns and after-hours service calls.

Job Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair overhead bridge cranes, gantry cranes, jib cranes, hoists, and related lifting equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical components including motors, drives, contactors, relays, limit switches, pendant controls, radio controls, VFDs, and control panels.
• Perform mechanical repairs on gearboxes, brake systems, wire ropes, bearings, wheels, shafts, couplings, and structural crane components.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and service manuals.
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and complete detailed service reports.
• Install and commission new crane systems and upgrades.
• Perform operational testing and load testing in accordance with applicable safety standards.
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled crane systems when applicable.
• Ensure all work complies with OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, and company safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, customers, and team members regarding equipment status and repair recommendations.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles in good working condition.
• Participate in emergency breakdown response and after-hours service calls as required.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum 3 years of experience repairing and maintaining overhead cranes, hoists, or industrial equipment.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills with knowledge of:
  • 24VDC, 120VAC, 240VAC, 480VAC systems
  • Motor controls
  • VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives)
  • Electrical testing equipment
• Strong mechanical repair and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work at heights and in industrial environments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding work.

Preferred

• NCCER, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, or equivalent technical certification.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Experience with Magnetek, Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider, or other industrial control systems.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Experience in shipyards, manufacturing plants, refineries, petrochemical facilities, or heavy industrial environments.
