Qualifications

• Experience operating overhead/bridge cranes in industrial settings.
• Knowledge of rigging practices, hand signals, and load control.
• Familiarity with OSHA standards for overhead cranes.
• Ability to communicate with riggers and supervisors during lifts.
• Physically able to work in an industrial setting, including standing and lifting.

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead/bridge cranes to move, lift, position, and place heavy loads according to work orders and supervisor instructions.
• Perform pre-use inspections of cranes, slings, hooks, and lifting devices.
• Verify load weights and rigging to ensure safe operation.
• Use standard hand signals or radios to coordinate with team members during lifting operations.
• Maintain safety policies, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Assist with material staging, equipment positioning, and shop support as needed.
• Report defects or unsafe conditions to supervision immediately.
