Job summary

The Shaw Group is seeking an overhead crane operator with certification capability for forklifts and aerial lifts, with specialized overhead crane experience. You will operate traveling or stationary cranes to lift, move, and position loads, using hooks, slings, electromagnets, or buckets.

Responsibilities include inspecting loads and crane equipment, adjusting controls, maintaining the crane, and adhering to safety rules and project requirements.

Qualifications

• May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Responsibilities

• Observes load hook-up and determines safety of load.
• Manipulates crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to instructions.
• Inspects crane for defects and notifies supervisor of malfunctions.
• Cleans and maintains crane and hoisting mechanism.
• Performs safety-related duties and participates in safety meetings.
