Job summary

Woodsage-LLC is seeking an Overhead Crane Operator to safely lift, move, and position loads using overhead cranes in our facility in Ohio. You will follow all safety procedures and operate controls to meet job specifications with accuracy.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of crane experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. High school diploma required; forklift experience preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year overhead crane experience required.

Responsibilities

• Operate overhead crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads.
• Depress controls and ensure load is safely attached before movement.
• Observe load hookup and assess safety of loads.
• Inspect crane and complete daily operator checklist; notify defects.
• Adhere to all safety requirements and perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Overhead Crane Operator responsibilities include, but may not be limited to,

• Understand the safety of the Overhead Crane and operate without compromise to those safety systems.
• Responsible for operating the Overhead Crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. Depresses buttons, lifts levers, and ensures load is safely attached to crane before bringing it down.
• Observes load hookup and determines safety of load.
• Manipulates or depresses crane controls, such as pedals, levers, and buttons, to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions.
• Inspects crane for defective parts, fills out daily operator checklist and notifies manager of defects or malfunctions.
• Must adhere to all safety requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• At least one year of overhead crane experience required.
• Must have positive attitude and ability to take ownership of area. Ability to work with precise limits and standards of accuracy
• Strong work ethic.
• Quick to learn and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment.

• High school diploma required.
