Job summary

Commercial Metals in Martinsburg, WV is seeking a dedicated overhead crane operator to support production in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

You will safely operate cranes, assist with material handling, and help maintain a clean, safe workspace while meeting daily production goals and quality standards. Training and certification may be provided to ensure safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating overhead cranes preferred.
• Knowledge of rigging and material handling safety.
• Ability to work with production teams and adapt to shift demands.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate an overhead crane to support production and movement of precast concrete products.
• Perform crane operations for stripping, setup, loading, and material handling.
• Move, stage, and store materials using overhead cranes and other equipment.
• Assist production crews with manufacturing activities and general labor as needed.
• Follow safety policies, lifting procedures, and housekeeping standards.
• Inspect work areas and maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Support daily production goals while maintaining quality and efficiency.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure safe, timely completion of tasks.

What You'll Do

• Safely operate an overhead crane to support the production and movement of precast concrete products throughout the facility.
• Perform crane operations related to product stripping, setup, loading, material handling, and moving concrete forms and products.
• Move, stage, and store materials using overhead cranes and other material handling equipment.
• Assist production crews with manufacturing activities and general labor as needed.
• Follow all safety policies, lifting procedures, rigging requirements, and housekeeping standards.
• Inspect work areas and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Support daily production goals while maintaining quality and efficiency standards.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure safe and timely completion of production tasks.

What You'll Need

• Previous experience operating overhead cranes in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of safe lifting, rigging, and material handling practices.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Willingness to complete overhead crane operator training and certification, if required.
• Ability to work independently, follow written and verbal instructions, and maintain reliable attendance.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment around heavy equipment, noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.

Your Education

• High School Diploma or GED required
