Job summary

Woodsage in Holland, Ohio is seeking an experienced Overhead Crane Operator to reliably lift, move and position loads in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while prioritizing safety.

You will perform daily inspections, attach loads securely, respond to safety signals, and follow written and verbal instructions to control crane movement.

This position implicates overtime at times; a high school diploma and at least one year of crane experience are required.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Overtime may be required.

Role and Responsibilities

The Overhead Crane Operator responsibilities include, but may not be limited to,

  • Understand the safety of the Overhead Crane and operate without compromise to those safety systems.
  • Responsible for operating the Overhead Crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. Depresses buttons, lifts levers, and ensures load is safely attached to crane before bringing it down.
  • Observes load hookup and determines safety of load.
  • Manipulates or depresses crane controls, such as pedals, levers, and buttons, to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions.
  • Inspects crane for defective parts, fills out daily operator checklist and notifies manager of defects or malfunctions.
  • Must adhere to all safety requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Notes
  • May require overtime with little notice before or after normal work hours or weekends.
