Job summary

Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) is seeking a Crane Inspector to inspect, certify, and perform minor maintenance on overhead cranes and hoists at a Huntsville location. You will complete inspection reports, test loads, and ensure adherence to safety procedures.

The role requires three years of inspection experience, NCCO certifications, a valid state driver’s license, and the ability to pass background and drug checks. On-site work and coordination with engineers are expected.

Qualifications

• Must have three years of experience as inspector.
• Must hold Crane Inspector and Operator/Rigging Certification (NCCO or equivalent).
• Must obtain favorable NACI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Completes inspection reports documenting findings.
• Inspects structural components (sheaves, blocks, hooks, and mechanisms).
• Performs minor repairs to meet inspection requirements.
• Performs load tests and documents findings.
• Ensures safe operating practices and signals for crane operations.
