Job summary

Simmers Crane Design & Services in Ohio is seeking a Civil Engineer to design, analyze, and manage crane-supporting structures for overhead cranes and industrial facilities.

You will perform structural calculations, ensure codes compliance, and collaborate with sales, engineering, customers, and field teams to deliver safe, cost-effective solutions while maintaining schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Entry Level, preferred experience in engineering and project management.
• Must be safety conscious for self and others.
• Critical thinking, decision making, and corrective actions are required.
• Strong organization and attention to detail.
• Technical knowledge and computer literacy; FEA software, Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in office and in the field.
• Must be comfortable working inside and outside in all weather, at heights.

Responsibilities

• Calculations for design and analysis of crane supporting structures and related steel/concrete design.
• Conform all applicable design specifications and maintain detailed records.
• Coordinate with sales team to propose work.
• Coordinate and manage projects from start to finish.
• Direct and supervise subcontractors and technicians.
• Plan and prepare material orders and delivery.
• Maintain deadlines and budgets per customer needs.
• Collect and interpret data.
• Follow safety policies and OSHA standards.
• Prepare invoicing and project closeout documents.
• Manage time across multiple projects.
• React quickly to solve problems.
