Job summary

Modern Railway Systems is seeking an Overhead Cantenary Systems Engineer to lead the design and construction support for OCS and Traction Power feeder systems on light rail and related transit projects.

The role involves performing shop drawings, pole and wire calculations, creation of O&M manuals, and coordinating with track, signal and power teams through testing and commissioning. Requires 5+ years in OCS and a relevant engineering degree.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in design tools and structural analysis concepts.
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead detailed engineering shop drawings for AC/DC OCS electrification.
  • Prepare calculations for pole/foundation loading, cantilever, wire sag/rise conditions.
  • Develop O&M manuals and training materials.
  • Provide site engineering support, troubleshoot installation issues, and perform testing/commissioning.
  • Interface with track, signal, and power substation engineers for system integration and testing.
