Job summary

Kentucky River District Health Department is seeking an Overdose Prevention Outreach Worker to engage individuals at risk for substance use disorders and provide direct services in the community. The role may include syringe service program work, hosting support groups, and outreach via mobile units across Knott, Perry, and Lee Counties.

Responsibilities include home visits, assessing needs, arranging transportation, and follow-up to ensure attendance and access to overdose prevention services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certification as a Peer Support Specialist required.

Responsibilities

• Visit patients or potential patients in home or community settings to explain services and arrange appointments.
• Provide support and encouragement to patients and assist in resolving problems related to overdose prevention and other health services.
• May assist in hosting support groups and providing direct services; may work on mobile outreach units and in community centers.
