Job summary

King's Hawaiian Bakery West, Inc is seeking an Oven Operator to run the oven and de-panning equipment, ensuring product quality and adherence to GMPs. You will set temperatures, bake times, monitor profiles, and keep logs while reporting issues to supervision.

The role requires training others, maintaining sanitation, and supporting safety practices; overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays may be required to meet production goals.

Qualifications

  • Three months experience and/or training operating the Oven in Manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions written in English.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the oven and de-panning equipment to meet product quality specifications.
  • Set oven controls to specified temperature and bake times.
  • Adjust controls to maintain accurate product specifications and monitor oven profile temperatures.
  • Notify plant supervisor via radio when product is out of specification.
  • Maintain log sheets for Quality Assurance.
  • Clean work area and tools; report equipment problems to Supervisor/maintenance.
  • Assist in training new employees or those changing roles.
  • Maintain sanitation and GMPs; promote safety in the work area.
  • Complete tasks/projects as needed by the company.

This position will require an individual who takes pride and ownership in his/her work and is willing to accept total responsibility for the performance of the oven operation. This individual’s key role is to operate the oven and de‑panning equipment to meet product quality specifications. Sets oven controls to specified temperature and bake times. Adjust controls as needed to maintain accurate product specifications. Manages the oven profile temperatures during production gaps to eliminate overbaked product from the oven. Monitors the product for the desired proof size and shape. Notifies the plant supervisor via radio when the product is out of specification. Maintains log sheets as necessary that are required for Quality Assurance. Reports equipment problems to Supervisor and maintenance personnel. Cleans work area and tools. Performs other duties in production as necessary. Assists in training of new employees or employees who change job classifications. Maintain a high level of sanitation and GMP’s. Promotes safety in the work area by understanding and following safety procedures and reporting all accidents in timely manner Complete tasks and projects as the need arises by the company

Skills/Experience

Three months experience and/or training operating the Oven in Manufacturing environment.

Language skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals written in English. Ability to write routine quality assurance reports and correspondence in English.

Mathematical skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Physical demands

The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, taste or smell. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 - 25 pounds, and occasionally more than 50 pounds with assistance from co-worker and/or mechanic devices. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work environment

While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee will be handling items that may be very hot. Noise level is usually moderate. Must be available to work overtime, nights, weekends, and Holidays.

Pay Rate

$25.45/hr
