Job summary

PRO-TAX RECRUITMENT LIMITED is working with a well-established, independent accountancy practice in Stafford to appoint an experienced Outsourcing Senior. The role is hands-on, with responsibilities spanning bookkeeping, year-end accounts, VAT returns and monthly management accounts for a diverse client portfolio. You will liaise directly with clients, support across a broad range of accounting work and enjoy a supportive, small-team environment. 3 days per week office-based.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an accountancy practice.
• Strong bookkeeping and accounts preparation experience.
• Experience preparing VAT returns and management accounts.
• Excellent experience using Xero.
• AAT, ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification would be advantageous, though QBE considered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end accounts for a range of clients.
• Bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly management accounts; bank reconciliations and GL work.
• Assist clients with day-to-day accounting queries.
• Liaise with clients and build strong working relationships.
• Support with general accounts and practice-related duties as required.

A well-established, independent accountancy practice based in Stafford is looking to appoint an experienced Outsourcing Senior to join their small and friendly team.

This is a varied, hands-on role that would suit either a qualified accountant or an experienced QBE who enjoys working closely with clients and getting involved across a broad range of accounting work.

You will be responsible for a mixture of bookkeeping and accounts duties, supporting a portfolio of clients across their day-to-day accounting requirements.

What you will be doing as an Outsourcing Senior

• Preparation of year-end accounts for a range of clients
• Bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records
• Preparation and submission of VAT returns
• Preparation of monthly/quarterly management accountsBank reconciliations and general ledger work
• Assisting clients with day-to-day accounting queries
• Liaising directly with clients and building strong working relationships
• Supporting with general accounts and practice-related duties as required

What you will need to succeed as an Outsourcing Senior

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
• Strong bookkeeping and accounts preparation experience
• Experience preparing VAT returns and management accounts
• Excellent experience using Xero - this is essential
• AAT, ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification would be advantageous, although QBE candidates will also be considered
• Good communication skills and a client-focused approach
• The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
