Job summary

Drake-Williams Steel is seeking a detail-oriented professional to manage outsourced fabrication contracts and coordinate with Preconstruction, Project Management, Engineering, and Production teams. You will identify qualified sub-fabricators, negotiate subcontract terms, and monitor performance to ensure scope, schedule, and budget adherence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction management, or related field preferred; equivalent combo of education and experience considered.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access).
• Three+ years of relevant experience in structural steel fabrication, commercial construction, or project coordination preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Preconstruction, Project Management, Production and Engineering to assess project needs and identify sub-fabricators.
• Negotiate, issue, and administer subcontract agreements ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, quality and budget.
• Assist in evaluating and maintaining approved sub-fabricators for quality, capacity, safety and performance.
• Develop and coordinate project schedules with internal teams and sub-fabricators to meet fabrication and delivery timelines.
• Serve as primary liaison between Drake-Williams Steel and sub-fabricators; ensure seamless customer interaction.
