Job summary

The City of Arvada seeks a friendly, reliable golf course marshal/starter to keep tee times moving smoothly and ensure players follow course rules. You will represent the facility professionally while driving carts, assisting supervisors, and helping with general course operations.

Preferred candidates are 18+ with a valid driver's license, willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays, and the ability to communicate effectively with players and staff in a courteous manner.

Position Purpose

Ensures driving range golf balls are clean, stocked, and readily available for customer use. Represents the facility professionally as a marshal/starter by managing tee time efficiency and enforcing course rules to enhance the player experience.

Essential Job Functions

• Performs starter duties on tee box.
• Acts as marshal on course and assists in any area requested by supervisor.
• Starts golfers and checks turn times.
• Patrols golf courses to ensure patrons maintain pace of play and follow rules.
• Stages golf carts as needed.
• Communicates in a friendly, responsive and professional manner to customers and co-workers.
• Cleans and maintains exterior restrooms and water stations.
• Frequent operation of a personal or City-owned motor vehicle to drive to and from work locations throughout the City.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous golf course experience (preferred).
• At least 18 years of age.

Physical Demands

Moderate to considerable physical effort that includes working from ladders in awkward positions. Frequent use of light or medium weight objects (e.g., 25-50 lbs.) and medium weight tools. Hazards include marginal to moderate exposure to conditions that may lead to injury. Work environment involves regular exposure to heat and noise and working outside in the elements.
