Job summary

KeempSports Management is seeking a part-time, hourly team member for outside member/guest services at Redwood Canyon Golf Course in Castro Valley. Responsibilities include greeting guests, assisting with course marshal duties, and handling cart logistics and practice range duties.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma (or equivalent), strong interpersonal communication, and a positive, professional appearance. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and assist with starter duties on the #1 hole tee box.
• Monitor pace of play and assist guests on the course.
• Load and return golf carts, ensure carts are clean and stocked.
• Perform valet duties at the bag drop area and assist guests.
• Transport golf bags to carts and loading into vehicles as appropriate.
• Greet returning golfers, clean clubs, and assist with loading into vehicles.
• Return carts to storage, remove used items, and charge as needed.
• Support practice range duties (range balls, setup, cleaning).
• Perform other duties as appropriate.

Redwood Canyon Golf Course is celebrated as one of the Bay Area’s most enjoyable golf destinations. Located in Castro Valley, the 18-hole golf facility is nestled away among the rolling hills of the east bay and is home to some of the most beautiful golf scenery in Northern California. Completely surrounded by breathtaking natural wildlife including the San Leandro creek which comes into play on nearly every hole, the course offers some of the most unique golf around and is truly enjoyable for golfers of all levels.

Position Summary:

Participates in all activities related to outside member/guest services. Activities may include serving as a greeter and course starter on the #1 Hole tee box, monitoring pace of play and assisting guests out on the golf course, staging and/or returning golf cars, performing practice range duties, cleaning and maintaining golf cars, etc. Responsibilities also include greeting and interacting with members/guests and providing information and/or assistance as appropriate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with Starter duties (if applicable) by greeting guests on the #1 Hole tee box, informing them of the course and any other information privy to their round of golf.
• Assist with Course Marshal duties (if applicable) by driving out onto the golf course and monitoring pace of play, noticing any gaps between groups, and assisting guests on the course.
• Bring carts from cart shelter to cart staging area. Ensure that carts are clean, operating properly and are properly equipped with towels, pencils, score cards, tees, sand/seed mix bottles, ice water, etc. Report any repair problems to the supervisor and mechanic.
• Perform valet duties in the bag drop area including greeting and interacting with members/guests, removing golf bags from cars, and providing information, directions and/or assistance as appropriate.
• Transport golf bags from the bag drop area or bag storage room and load onto assigned golf carts.
• Greet golfers returning from the course, clean golf clubs, unload golf clubs from carts and assist with transporting and loading into vehicles or returning bags to the storage area as appropriate.
• Return golf cars to the cart storage area. Remove towels, pencils, score cards, tees, trash, etc., from carts and save reusable items. Wash cart with pressure cleaner, park cart and connect charger cable.
• Perform practice range duties including transporting range balls to each end of range and filling appropriate containers, cleaning and maintaining the tee area, repositioning bag stands or barriers, removing trash from receptacles, refilling water jugs, operating the ball picker on the range, washing range balls, etc.
• Perform other duties as appropriate.

• Ability to efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including evenings/weekends.
• Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.

$16.90 per hour
