We currently have an exciting Fluid Power Outside Sales opportunity based in the Houston, TX metropolitan area. In this role, you will develop new business with support from our knowledgeable customer service team and managers.

The primary purpose of this position is to win new customers and business while maintaining existing accounts. You will be responsible for achieving sales, gross margin goals, and supporting company initiatives within a defined territory or set of accounts.

Essential Functions
  1. Achieve quota: Capable of achieving an annual gross profit quota.
  2. Expand customer base: Prospect and follow-up on leads to acquire new customers quarterly (OEM, Capital Project, MRO) within your territory.
  3. Target account program: Select and grow new business in targeted accounts annually.
  4. Conduct customer needs assessment: Review customer’s technical requirements, production volumes, pricing, and competitive landscape to identify underlying business issues.
  5. Prepare proposals and presentations: Based on needs analysis, product knowledge, and services.
  6. Negotiate effectively: Maximize profitability through customer negotiations.
  7. Provide customer service: Ensure satisfaction through timely, accurate service and proactive problem-solving.
  8. Cross-sell: Promote products and services from other business units.
  9. Utilize CRM: Record sales activities and opportunities weekly.
  10. Resource utilization: Collaborate with internal teams to meet customer needs and drive value.
  11. Attend weekly meetings: Review success metrics and plan activities.
Experience, Education, and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience/training.
  • Minimum 2 years industrial sales experience, with at least 1 year in fluid power sales.
  • Ability to build relationships and exceed sales goals.
  • Experience with value-added sales, mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting fluid power systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of Automation/Motion Control is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Some overnight travel may be necessary.
